1.       3 WAYS TO WIN

a.       Free throws – making more than your opponents take.

b.       Offensive rebounding – getting more easy shots – daily emphasis.

c.        Touches – emphasizing getting a hand on the ball defensively.  50 or more equal win!

2.       2 PEOPLE WHO CANNOT HAVE BAD PRACTICES

a.       Best player

b.       Head coach

3.       If your best player lacks character – your team will always fall short of the vision.

 4.      You have to know how to coach the hardest player to reach on the team – they don’t
see the big picture yet.  Communication is the key!

        5.       Everyone can always give more – effort, communication, enthusiasm.

        6.       Practices should be highly competitive – teach them how to compete in the game!

        7.       Challenge daily your best player – the others follow.

        8.       Your players should have a fire-in-the-belly enthusiasm for your program – they won’t
take for granted the little things that make your program special.

        9.       What is your team identity?  How will you win the game?

a.       Defensive pressure – we preach “touches”.

b.       Transition

10.    Know why you coach and be able to communicate it.

        11.    Your team will be known for something at the end of the year – what will it be?

        12.
The coaching staff has to always be on the same page when you’re with your team
show the face your team needs to see.
